Measurement of water meters in an urban environment

Together with the manufacturer and installer, we have provided a solution for the implementation of a fixed reading system for the accounting of consumption in the entire town of Plasencia de Jalón (Zaragoza).

After conducting a radio study by geolocating all the meters, field work was carried out collecting distances and ranges of both devices and radio repeaters and concentrators.

The biggest challenge we faced was the La Venta area, located approximately 1.5 km from the town’s urban center. Others, such as the irregular layout of the most central streets, together with the large number of buildings with few openings and large walls, were solved with successive radio tests.

Finally, two radio networks with two concentrators with 3G output allow us to acquire the data and send it periodically in digital format.
