Parque Roma (Zaragoza)
Data acquisition in District Heating
The Parque Roma (Zaragoza) Community is a housing community composed of more than 1,000 homes, making it one of the most important District Heating (Heat Network) systems in Spain, among the 3 largest equipped with cost allocators.
Installed a few years ago, the community decided to delve into improving data refresh times and better controlling consumption in its two thermal power plants.
During the autumn of 2019, a network of repeaters and concentrators was installed to guarantee daily data acquisition from more than 97% of the installed meters, making this the largest installation undertaken by Usanca Metering to date.
The challenge we faced was threefold: The pre-existing devices emitted in Wireless MBus mode S, and in two completely different frames. On the other hand, there were devices with daily emission and others with monthly programming for Walk-By reading. And finally, the general meters, served by another manufacturer, were configured in Wireless MBus mode T.
Combining all the information from different protocols and telegrams with the best data refresh rates, and collaborating with the energy services company and the completion of a new census, have been the major obstacles we have overcome in this installation.
